Hi I'm Seth

I'm a podiatrist, an avid college football fan, and husband and father, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After being raised in different areas of the West (Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Wyoming), my family relocated to Florida where I went to high school. I really enjoyed living in the South, but my heart is in the West. I currently live in Arizona and LOVE what I do. I am a (future) Podiatrist. I've been in Podiatry School (very similar to medical school) for 3 1/2 years and will finally graduate next May. It's been a long road, and it's nice to be getting to the end of it soon. I married my beautiful wife not long before starting Podiatry School and we now have 2 cute little boys who are 2 1/2 and 6 months old. I was raised a BYU football fan, and that's probably the best way to describe me. I start every college football season truly and sincerely believing that my Cougars are going to win the National Title, only to get crushed by game 3 or so every year. I love getting my little boys all dressed up in BYU gear for the games, even though they don't realize how much they're going to love it too one day (let's hope). When not enthralled in a BYU football game, I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and kids and love watching them grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I LOVE IT. I love everything out my faith. I started reading The Book of Mormon at a young age and know it to be true. The knowledge of that has led me to know of a surety that Jesus died for me and has redeemed me and all others who will repent and follow Him. I know that He loves me and is there for me in times of need. Without my faith in Jesus Christ and the principles that I follow, I would not be able to be happy in this life. Through following Christ and keeping His commandments, I know that I can be happy with my family members and be with them for time and even into the eternities after this life.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday, I attend 3 hours of church services. The first hour is a congregational meeting and the second and third hours are Sunday School hours where we break off into groups based on age to study from the Scriptures. I help out in my ward (which is what we call the group of us that attend church services together, similar to a "congregation" in other faiths) by helping to organize and teach Sunday School classes. I help keep the ward library stocked and running so other teachers of children, teenagers, or adults can make copies or get other materials that they need to aid in their teaching. But more important than how I participate on Sunday is how I live my faith by always striving to practice what I preach. This includes following commandments found in the Bible and Book of Mormon that were taught by Jesus Christ. It also includes following the counsel of the living prophet and apostles. As I strive to live by the commandments of Christ, I feel that I'm living my faith and doing what the Lord asks of me.
