Hi I'm Karen

I'm a retired teacher, genealogist and traveler. I'm a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 32 years ago as a young mother. I could see that my children and I would need a compass in an increasingly troubled world, and I needed help in guiding them to find what Jesus would have them do. The church I had been raised in just put the children in a nursery while the adults were in the Sunday meeting. I sought a church that rang true and supported families.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible and find the more I live the commandments the happier I can be. Both testify of Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind. I love visiting other LDS wards in our travels and knowing exactly what I'll encounter when I walk in the door. We look to a prophet and scripture rather than to local individuals to direct the Church as a whole. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church.

How I live my faith

I have a gift for teaching, and it was my profession for many years. I have used this experience as I have taught in several areas at Church. Right now my husband and I direct an LDS Family History Center in our city; I can teach genealogy classes and teach individuals. I try to live my faith each day, rather than on Sundays only. Problems encountered in life look smaller when viewed from an eternal perspective.
