Hi I'm Andi

I from Texas. I love film, fun, and family. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am about to serve a mission and when I return I will attend BYU. I played basketball in high school and love the Dallas Mavericks! I have three brothers and two step-sisters who are both married! I have one precious nephew :) I love spending time with my family and watching movies. I also enjoy making movies! I hope to make music videos some day.

Why I am a Mormon

When I turned twelve my family was going through a very difficult time and I needed an outlet. I was just entering the Young Women's program at church and within the Young Women's there is a program called Personal Progress. There are different values (faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue). Each value has different tasks to be completed and and a 10 hour project to complete the value. That summer I devoted all of my free time to Personal Progress and completed the entire thing. From Personal Progress I gained my testimony of the Savior and of Heavenly Father and of their love for me. After my parents got divorced I lived with my dad. I had no mother in my house to teach me about being a woman but in every single ward that I lived in, there were women there to help me in every single way. Those women took time from their families to help me and to teach me. My testimony of the Savior and Heavenly Father's love for me grew. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior and I love my Heavenly Father and their love has helped me though difficult times in my life. Their love has given me peace, joy, and hope. I would not be who I am or where I am today without the blessings I have received in my life because of their love.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my teaching Sunday School. That is a big act of faith! Before I moved to this ward I prayed to Heavenly Father to help me to know more about the Gospel. He blessed me with the calling of Sunday School Teacher :) I was nervous because the first time I taught Sunday School a few years ago it was a train wreck. As I exercised my faith and prayed for inspiration, this calling has blessed my life immensely. My knowledge of the Gospel has increased greatly. Each week when I teach I can feel the Holy Ghost uplifting me and helping me to teach the lesson and get the message across to those in my class. My favorite way to live my faith is by attending appointments with the sister missionaries. I love to share the Gospel with others because of how it has blessed my life. I want others to feel the same joy that i do! I hope I get to serve a mission some day!

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Andi
Wards, stakes and branches are ways that the church is organized. Similar to how families living in specific areas are assigned to a school district, the church is divided up into wards. A group of wards make up a stake. A branch is a small version of a ward. Members are assigned to wards near their home. Because of this organization, multiple wards can meet at the same building at different times for meetings. The great part about this organization is that the same lesson is being taught all around the world on the same Sunday. Give or take a week. It is the same Gospel, the same message, the same truth. Within the ward there are callings that the members are asked to perform. All of the callings are done without pay. There are programs for young children, youth (teenagers), and adults. These programs are designed to help uplift, unify, and teach members of the Gospel. My home ward is a great example of uplifting others. I love the members of the ward. We are constantly striving to serve others and to develop our personal and family testimonies of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
