Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a wife, mother, substance abuse counselor and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother to two boys! I enjoy outdoor activities with my family like swimming, walking, and gardening. I love to read books with my children and read for pleasure as well. I enjoying making my home a comfortable place to be and inviting people over to eat and socialize. I also have a BS in Psychology and a LMSW degree. I serve as a substance abuse counselor and help people overcome a variety of issues.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a strong testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ and of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon, but I didn't understand just how much it really meant to me until I started counseling others with challenges. As a Licensed Social Worker, I legally and professionally can not share the Gospel with my clients and have to help them through their crisis situations without using religion. It is clear to me that it is almost impossible for us as sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father to find peace and happiness in this life without a strong relationship with Him and His Son Jesus Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ solves all the problems that plague our society and helps us individually overcome our tendencies to do evil. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is Christ's church on the earth today. I know that through the blessings of living a Christ-centered life I can have an eternal family and that the relationships I have now will be perpetuated beyond the grave.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being as much like Christ as I can by doing the things he would do. Christ was always helping and lifting others. I have the opportunity in my local church to visit a few women who have really become my friends. I am able to share messages of peace with them and assist them in any way possible. I also get to teach the children music each Sunday and enjoy how much their smiling faces and enthusiastic voices lift my spirits. At work, I am amazed at how much a smile or a kind act can bless someone's life. At home, my husband and I try our best to teach our children the principles of the Gospel so that they too can feel the joy that comes from loving and serving others.
