Hi I'm Marjorie

I'm a wife, a mother of 4 wacky kids, I homeschool. I am obsessed with theatre & performing. I love the outdoors and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Born and raised in Spokane Washington, with 7 brothers and 1 sister, that left home when I was only 4, I learned how to fend for my self and "toughed it out". I was home schooled for most of my school years (at home). Growing up I was able to perform quite a bit; being in about 14 musicals before I left for college. I left to Brigham Young University before my friends had graduated from high school. I was VERY ready to move into the next part of my life. I went to school and worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant. I served a full time mission for the Mormon church in Rochester New York, serving at both the church historical sites in Palmyra, NY and proselyting in the surrounding area. This mission stretched me more than anything else had in my life up until that point. Met my husband and was married soon after my return home from the mission. Currently, I am a stay at home mom with 4 children, homeschooling, changing diapers, reading books, supporting my hubby with his business, and serving the children in our congregation. As my mission President always said, "The Future is Bright!" that is how I try to live my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into a family that was sealed (married) in the Temple, I had to be converted, born again, gain a witness (however you want to say it) for myself. While I worked as a Nurses assistant, I was looking after a woman that was dying. While she slept and I sitting next to her; I took up her scriptures and began to read the account of Joseph Smith seeing God the Father and Jesus Christ. I had been taught this story through out my life but NEVER had I felt such a confirmation that it was true. That God really did speak to his prophets just as He had to Noah, Moses, and others but that He still spoke to man today. That God really is the same yesterday, today and forever! I knew that Joseph Smith saw Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father and that Smith had restored the Church of Christ once again on the earth. Why I'm a Mormon? Because, when I read the scriptures, the Holy Ghost/Spirit bore witness to me that Joseph Smith saw God and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God along with the Bible.

How I live my faith

Living a life of as a Latter-day saint (Mormon) may not always be easy. Just as being a mom or a wife is not easy but I know that with out pain there is no gain. I strive to live my faith in all that I do. I fail quite often but I try. I live my faith by loving my husband and supporting him in being the bread winner for our family. I live my faith by serving in my congregation; by overseeing the care, teaching and religious education of 65 children. I live my faith by caring for my own children, praying with my husband, children and reading the scriptures personally and with my family. I live my faith by being a good member of the Spokane Valley community, by being nice to those I see, by giving a friendly wave and smile to those I pass.
