Hi I'm Michael G.

I grew up in Southern California and now live Seattle. I'm a husband, father, economist, Christian, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married to a wonderful wife, we have one daughter and another on the way. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family, whether it be playing with my daughter, going for walks, family vacations, or just hanging out. I served a mission for my church in Guatemala and love the people, land and culture of that country. I love golfing and playing tennis and am a SoCal sports fan. I studied economics in grad school and love the economist view on life my background gives me. I love analyzing data and solving complex analytical problems. I currently work for a technology company as a researcher in paid search. I enjoy life and cherish the memories I make with my family. I look forward to the joys, happiness, opportunities and blessings that await me and my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I find great joy in living the gospel of Jesus Christ and I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the fullness of our Savior's gospel and is His only true church on Earth. I grew up in the church. My parents taught me the gospel in our home and it always felt right. Growing up, my home was a place of refuge and peace from the world where we were able to cultivate our faith and increase our knowledge and understanding of the gospel. Praying to my Father in Heaven and reading my scriptures gives me great joy and peace, they give me purpose and help me live with confidence and faith. I know these things are true because I have prayed and asked my Father in Heaven and he has made them known unto me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a Christlike person. Our faith is one of action, and I believe action is important. I find great joy in serving others, whether it be with a friendly smile, a conversation or a lending hand. I particularly love helping rekindle the flame of faith in those for whom it's grown dim. I am currently serving as a den leader with my wife for the Webelos (Cub Scouts), and we love it. It is so much fun to teach the boys and see their excitement for the various activities we participate in. Also, within the church I visit various families and provide support in any way I can. My most important calling in life, is that of husband and father and as such I try to foster a spirit of love and righteousness within my home through prayer, scripture study, gospel discussions and joyous events.

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Michael G.
Anyone can become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Membership in the church is open to all of God's children - every human being! To become a member of the Church one must first become familiar with the teaching's of Jesus Christ (usually done through meeting with missionaries), gain a testimony for themselves that the gospel is true through confirmation of the Holy Ghost, and be familiar with the requirements of faithful living and the commandments of God. They must also demonstrate that they have repented of their sins and are living and willing to live the commandments. It is also important to attend church a few times to become familiar with the teachings and to become friends with the members of the local congregation. Once this is done, one can be baptized by immersion by one holding the authority of God and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost and be confirmed a member of the Church. Show more Show less
