Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have been married for 18 years now and met while I was in the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis Washington. After both serving missions for the church, her in New York and I in the Philippines, we were married in the Logan Utah Temple and to this day it was the greatest day of my life. We now have 6 children and live in Montana. We love the church and all it stands for. I served in the U.S. Army Infantry for 8 years and exited in 1989. I spent time with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii and the 9th Infantry Division in Fort Lewis Washington and was able to see much of the pacific. In 1994 I started out in Telecommunications sales and later started my own business selling various items to Truck Stops and Convenience stores. I love what I do because we are always bringing in something new to sell to the stores. I love to Hunt, Fish, Hike, Camp or do anything else that involves mountains. We have 3 boys and 3 girls all of which are a joy. (ok, most days anyway) All in all I think we are a pretty normal family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in an LDS home I did not know for myself that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the true church until my last year in the Army when I decided to read The Book of Mormon for the first time and pray for myself to know if it was true. I will never forget that experience. I know now that the Book of Mormon is true and am so thankful that I took the time to read it, pray about it and find out for myself. (I never was one to just take the word of someone else on something that important) Most Missionaries in the church go on their missions at age 19 but because I needed to finish my time in the Service (Army) and because I did not know the church was true at 19, I did not go until I was 25. Aside from my marriage my mission was the greatest time of my life. I had in just the previous year found out for myself that the Church was really true and now I had the opportunity to accept a call from a Living Prophet and go to the Philippines on a mission and share what I had found out with others. I love the people of the Philippines. They are humble and many are looking for the truth. The greatest thing about the church that I have found is that ANYONE can KNOW if it is really, truly the only true church on the earth! If a person is willing to just read the Book of Mormon and then pray and ask God if it is true, they can know because the Holy Ghost will tell them in their heart. When I received my answer about the Book of Mormon and the Church no man or woman after that could tell me that what I knew to be true was wrong. Why? Because the answer I received was from Heaven, It was from God and not man. I love the church and to this day encourage all to investigate it for themselves, To not take the word of another, not even the LDS Missionaries! Find out for yourself by reading that sacred book, The Book of Mormon. It is a volume of Holy Scripture and goes hand in hand with the Holy Bible. I know the Church is True. Kevin

How I live my faith

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has something called "callings" This is where we as members of the church get to serve in our local church as teachers ect... No one is paid in the church and all callings are an act of service. I have had many callings in the church and right now I watch over a portion of the "Home Teaching." Each man in the church is called to be a Home Teacher. This means that each month he and another male member of the local church go out and visit a certain number of families, share a short message with them and see if there is anything they can do for that family. In a way, I feel it is the Lords way of watching over his children. There have been many times where the home teachers have been a help to me and my own family. When we have had to move they have reported back and then come with trucks and others to help us with that move. When we have had someone sick in the family, our Home Teachers have come to give a blessing, There was even a time when I had lost my job and it was the Home Teachers that not only offered comfort but helped me find new work. I once heard one of our Leaders say that the Lord is mindful of our needs and that he uses others to meet those needs. I really feel that as Saints we should be as much like the Lord as we can. He went about doing good and helping others and through the Home Teaching program I would like to think that we are trying to do the same. This world can be a lonely place sometimes and for me it is great to know that there is someone I can call on even if I have no one else to turn to for help when I need it.
