Hi I'm Savannah

I'm a mother of three. I love to read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, and a mother of three children under the age of four. My life is pretty hectic. I like to read, quilt, cloth diaper, can fruit, play my French Horn, and run, if I ever have a few minutes to myself. I love taking my kids to the park, hiking, and picnicking with my family. I have three sisters and one brother, and we all live in opposite corners of the United States, so any time we all get together is a special treat.

Why I am a Mormon

The family that I grew up in belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but that is not enough to make a person a Mormon. When I was young, some members of my family decided to follow a different path. They rejected their faith, changed their lifestyle, and left my family. I saw clearly how those choices led to loneliness and heartache for them, while building strength in those who remained. My home was not broken. All who remained were united by a shared faith, shared values, and shared goals. Faith and family are deeply intertwined in the lives of Mormons. Choosing to be a Mormon, to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, is a daily choice. Every day that I choose to live my faith, my faith grows stronger. Disciples of Jesus Christ cannot be once-a-week followers. Being a Mormon requires a daily, hourly, and moment by moment recommitment. Most of all, I am a Mormon because the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true! They answer the most basic questions of our hearts: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going? I feel peace and satisfaction in my life. I am secure in my knowledge of my eternal identity. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who cares about me, and I love Him.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example of living like Christ in everything I do. I know that my children are always watching me, so everything I do is influenced by my desire for them to grow up with faith. I know that living with absolute integrity is the only way for them to understand the sincerity of my devotion to Jesus Christ and His gospel. Being entrusted with the care of three sweet little souls is a great honor, and I try to never take that responsibility lightly. I pray every day to be a better mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I look for opportunities to help and serve the people around me. I live my faith by answering a call to work with the young women in my church, which is a great privilege. They teach me a lot about living virtuous lives in a world that frequently mocks their valiant choices.
