Hi I'm John

Hi! I grew up in a large, loving LDS family and am the father of five children and grandfather to one grandson, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a small community in the beautiful Arizona desert with lots of scenery that goes on forever it seems. I love living in the desert southwest and have lots and lots of extended family that live close by who make life full and happy. I am married to the most wonderful woman and daughter of God. She is the love of my heart and I look forward to growing old together and continuing to share life's experiences, joy, and happiness. I have five children, 4 girls and a boy along with an eight month old grandson. Hard to believe that I am a grandfather as I do not feel old enough to be called grandpa yet, but he is so beautiful and such a joy that I am loving it. I work for a Fortune 100 financial services company as an acting director for marketing and sales. I have worked for this company for almost 20 years and have been greatly blessed in my profession. It took myself almost that same amount of time to earn my bachelor's degree in global marketing but I am so glad that I did and am looking forward to soon enrolling in graduate studies to complete an MBA. Some of my hobbies are camping, flyfishing, and riding off-road motorcycles. I love the outdoors and feel such gratitude to my Heavenly Father and Savior for the beauties and wonders of this earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is the true church of Christ which knowledge and understanding came to me by faithful and diligent study, prayer, and the living of gospel principles as taught by this church, the only true and living church on the earth. One of my favorite scriptures is found in the New Testament where the Savior taught in John chapter 7 verse 17, "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." I found that when I am unsure as to the truthfulness of an idea or principle, if I diligently study and pray about it as well as try to implement it in my life, in other words "do his will" then the Spirit will confirm to my heart it's truthfulness if it is indeed true and if it is not true then I receive no confirming witness or feeling. I have found the Savior's formula of "doing his will" to work every time, but it takes faith and a willingness to receive and then be obedient to the confirming witness given by our Heavenly Father in answer to our prayers and efforts.

How I live my faith

I have served in many different ways as a member of the Lord's church from teaching children about the Savior each Sunday, to keeping good records for our local congregation, to serving as a ward missionary. Also, I served as a full-time missionary in the great Northwestern United States after I had turned the ripe old age of nineteen. My mission experience laid a foundation for my life that has been a great blessing to me and my family. My favorite part of my membership and responsibility as a member of the Lord's church is the association and friendship that I have with both members in full fellowship, those not of our faith, and those who are unsure about their membership in the Lord's church. One of my favorite miracles performed by the Savior is the man who was an invalid for 38 years and was waiting to be healed at the pool of Bethesda by being the first person in the water after it had been troubled by an angel. But because he could not move quickly, he could not get to the water quick enough before someone else. The Savior seeing the man asked him if he wanted to be healed and he said that he did not have anyone to help him get to the water before someone else. The Savior then said "Rise, take up thy bed, and walk", and immediately the man was healed. I love the tenderness and compassion exemplified by the Savior to help someone who was alone and downtrodden for so long. I want to be like Him in helping to lift others with a sure hope that by so doing I will be more like Him and our Heavenly Father.
