Hi I'm Colby

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mommy of two. I love to sing and write songs. The songs that I write about are usually about motherhood and gospel related things. I play the guitar but I'm not any good :/ I am also a fitness coach. I hold boot camps to help people stay active and strong. I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the church by good parents, but that is not why I am "Mormon." When I was about 11, I came to my Dad and said, "Dad, I don't know if the church is true or not." My father encouraged me to study it out on my own and when I did, I was overwhelmed with a truth that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of the Lord, and if that was true, then the Book of Mormon was true as well. Ever since then I have put my heart and soul into this gospel and the more I participate and try to keep his commandments, the more I know it is the only true gospel on this earth today. As I have started having children, the testimony of who we are and where we came from has pierced my soul like never before. As I held my sweet, brand new, innocent babies in my arms, I felt a peace, that these were choice spirits from a Heavenly Father, and that we are all Children of God.

How I live my faith

I love serving in this church. My husband and I serve wherever needed, but I have been involved with children in "primary" for over a year now. I love helping take care of the children that come to our church building and helping them understand the teachings of Jesus Christ. In my experience, these children are naturally drawn to learn about him. The sweet little spirits that they bring each Sunday strengthens my personal testimony.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

An individual's "testimony" refers to the things that the individual has discovered to be true. It is not an expression of belief, it is an expression of truth. A testimony is something someone cannot deny because the feelings and knowledge they have gained have brought them a peace and assurance. When I express my testimony, I'm expressing the things I know to be true. Show more Show less
