Hi I'm Andrew Jensen

I'm an avid debater, amateur photographer and videographer, and an aspiring human being

About Me

I'm currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving for a period of 24 months in South Houston, Texas teaching in the Spanish language. I was born in Utah and raised in Arizona, I have 2 sisters and a brother rounding our family our to an even 3 boy on 3 girl split which makes family game nights pretty intense. I graduated from high school a distinguished scholar with honors as an active member of the school debate team and in addition with honors from the school Quidditch team (which wasn't official parsey but I like to believe it was). I'm an active member of the Reddit community and love to argue about philosophy, politics, and everything between. I love to travel and have been everywhere from Africa to Mexico and love learning new languages and cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ lived. I know that because He lived and because He suffered for not only our sins, but also our trials, afflictions, temptations, and infirmities that He knows exactly what each of us passes through. There was a time in my life where I struggled with depression and anxiety. The results were evident in my life: I attended church less and would go for months without reading the scripture or praying. It wasn't until I reached the lowest point in my whole life that I truly began to understand the power that Jesus Christ's atonement provides each of us. I know that no matter what trials we pass through, no matter how low our lives see, Jesus Christ has been there and understands perfectly and completely what we're going through. My renewed conversion to the gospel came as a result of my conversion to Jesus Christ, as I began to understand how deep his love for all of us is. I'm a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ not only lived, but still lives today. Yo se que Jesucristo es mi Salvador, yo se que por medio Su vida y Su Expiacion nosotros recibímos perdón por nuestros pecados. Yo se que Jesucristo vivió y vive hoy. En el nombre de Jesucristo, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary for the Church serving in Houston, Texas and I live my faith through striving to align my life with the life of Christ as closely as possible. Before entering the mission field, I found it hard at times to live this faith, there are many commandments and guidelines to follow. However, I realized that the commandments that God gives us are not "restriction" but enablers that help us return to live with our Father in Heaven. Once I begin to see the commandments as a blessing in my life, the Gospel began to make so much more sense to me. I found more peace, more happiness, and more joy in the guidelines that Heavenly Father has given us that provide us safety and security from the dangers of life. I live my faith by striving to keep my life in alignment with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
