Hi I'm Marcio

I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm an auditor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was born of good and hard-working parents. Regardless of religion my brothers and I were always taught about good principles and manners. When I was 15, I was introduced to the Church by a good friend of mine, and I attended some random activities. Meeting the missionaries and getting to know more about the Church was a great experience, and I was baptized at the age of 15. At that time, I knew I would serve a mission. When I was 19, although it was extremely difficult to leave my family, friends and work behind, I went on a mission. I served on the Rio de Janeiro mission, and I was definitely one of the best periods of my life. I got home, and started studying and working rightaway. About 2 years after I returned, I met a beautiful girl, and we got married. I got my degree in Accounting. Today I work for a large CPA Company, and we are expecting our first daughter. I am extremely happy, and I acknowledge God's hands in my life everyday, in everything I do. That doesn't mean I don't face challenges or difficult times. We all do, in different degrees. However, knowing that God is there for you, will always give you the right perspective to overcome your challenges.

Why I am a Mormon

When I met the missionaries and heard about the message of restoration, it just made sense to me, although I was relatively young. Knowing that God has a plan - and that it doesn't change - gave me a whole new perspective. I always thought scriptures were just random collections of inspiring phrases, and not a legitimate source of knowledge and inspiration, and when I was thaught that the scriptures were literally testaments to us, it was amazing. Knowing we have prophets on the earth today (an important aspect of God's plan) was also really important. These are some of the reasons why I joined the Church, and also important reasons why I still follow it. I know God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and so is His plan.

How I live my faith

I love to actively participate in the Church. I've already participated in the Church with several different activities, I really enjoyed working with the youth, and teaching in Sunday school. Both experiences were outstanding for my personal development, and hopefully I helped one or two people along the way. This is one thing I learned about serving and participating in the Church. The more you serve others, the less you worry about your own needs. I also attend regular Church meetings every Sunday with my wife, and I love it.
