Hi I'm Andy

I'm a musician, a recent high school graduate, and a soon-to-be full time missionary in Concepcion, Chile.

About Me

As of now I am a recent high school graduate from Prescott High School and I am preparing to serve a 2 year mission in Concepcion, Chile. Since I was about 12 years old, I've been playing trumpet and was rather successful at it through high school and had the privilege of playing in one of the best band programs in the state. I enjoy doing things outdoors and working on cars or just fixing things in general. And on occasion I enjoy a bit of video games with my friends or older brother. I have three older brothers who have all served missions and have been married in the temple. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all my life, as were my parents and grandparents- and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all my life, but my testimony of it has been through many stages of growth and development. For many years of my early life I felt the church was true because I felt something special, I believed that that is what made this church true, because it was the only place where I felt the warm influence of the spirit. My parents knew it was true and I trusted them in their testimony. However as I grew older my parents testimony was not enough to keep me from doing wrong, and as a stubborn teen I made decisions that were contrary to the standards of the church. After several years of bad decisions that I made and that others made, I learned to depend on the Lord and to find comfort in the atonement of Jesus Christ. I developed a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and learned to trust his commandments and to always obey. I have found that there is no greater happiness than in reading the scriptures and praying daily, attending church meetings, and obeying the word of God. I am a Mormon because I know that God hears and answers my prayers, the atonement of Jesus Christ is real and works, and it is in this church that we receive the blessings of the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I cannot deny what I know and I will not betray the hand that has given me so much.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday and attend the Temple as often as I can. Soon I will be serving a mission for this church and to do that I have set aside many things like playing trumpet, scholarships and other great academic opportunities involving music, relationships, friends, and my family for two years, knowing I will be blessed for my service to the Lord.
