Hi I'm Sandye

I grew up in Southern California and joined the church at the age of 16. I am an Emergency Department RN and I am a Mormon!

About Me

I met my husband while attending the University of Oregon...GO DUCKS! We have been married 43 years and have 5 children and 12 grandchildren. I work in a very busy emergency department as a nurse and love my job! I love to read and have read the Harry Potter books many times! I also love the feeling I get after I have run 5-6 miles...running is such a wonderful hobby! Another love is knitting and I love creating new patterns. At the age of 16 I was invited to attend a Sunday meeting at an LDS church while on vacation. I had a peaceful, happy feeling while in attendance and knew that I wanted to attend another meeting. Soon I was introduced to the missionaries and after completing the lessons was baptised a member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

While taking the lessons I was amazed at the wonderful feelings I felt and I learned to recognize the presence of the Holy Ghost. Having been raised a Christian I had always had questions about concepts that just didn't make sense to me. After taking the lessons I knew the church was true...it was a great feeling to find the truth I was seeking. How grateful I am to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the teachings of the gospel to help me live my life with purpose and direction. The Book of Mormon is one of my favorite books and I know it was translated by Joseph Smith who was a Prophet of God. Working in the hospital has put me in a position to be asked if "mormons are really christians". The answer is an enthisiastic YES! We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and in his teachings and know he died for us that we might live again. Yes, Mormons are Christians...really!

How I live my faith

Currently I am helping to organize a womens education and service day. We will be sewing quilts and blankets as a service project for a homeless shelter in the Phoenix area. We are also sewing pillow cases for the Cardon Children's Cancer Center. I love having the opportunity to serve others and try hard to be a good example to those around me.
