Hi I'm Kerry

I grew up in a military family. We moved from state to state while I was growing up because of military transfers.

About Me

I am happily married and I am a father to six wonderful children. I love the outdoors, traveling, electronics (especially Apple products), and spending time with my family and great friends. I have a B.S. degree in Psychology and a A.A.S degree in Respiratory Care. My family is musically talented. They play the piano, violin, and guitar. I can play nothing. Ha! Except air guitar and air piano. However, I do like to sing with our church choirs.

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up, our family did not go to church. I did not read a bible until I was in my 20's. I was not at all familiar with Church or what went on inside. One day I joined a Church of Christ. Shortly afterwards, I joined the military. I left my old life behind and started a new one. I loved the bible and went to church every Sunday. I gained hope in the Lord and wanted to live my life like the Savior. Several years later, after hearing lots of negative things about "Mormons," I wanted to check them out for myself. I met some Mormon missionaries who taught me about the Savior. I was very familiar with the teachings of the Lord in the bible. I could feel the Spirit, especially when the Lord was speaking. The missionaries told me about the Book of Mormon, which is another testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. They challenged me to read the Book of Mormon and to pray to know if the book was true. I took there challenge. I found the same Spirit in the Book of Mormon that I feel when I read the Bible. I have prayed about the Book of Mormon and have received a witness through the Holy Ghost that the Book is true! I bear my witness in the name of the Savior, Jesus Christ, that the Book of Mormon is true. Amen

How I live my faith

Today I teach the gospel at Church on Sundays. I help out in our community with young men in the Boy Scouts working on their Eagle projects. I help people in our community with various service projects such as yard work, building houses, remodeling homes, and the list goes on. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and family. We associate with the best of friends that lift us up through life's trials. My wife and I sing in our Church choirs. I have come to know that the more important things in life are not about material things, but how we live our lives. By following the Savior's example we can find peace and joy in the journey.
