Hi I'm Trent Jay Eliason

I'm serving a mission in Moscow, Russia. I'm a mormon. Straight up.

About Me

I love my family. I love my friends. I'm a guy who likes to do lots of stuff. Sport stuff, food stuff, music stuff, other stuff, you name it. I like to meet new people too.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because the Book of Mormon is true. I was raised mormon, but have occasionally questioned the truthfulness of my faith. I have found it to be true. I have studied it out and asked God about it as frequently as doubts have come up. He always answers and it is always in the positive. Being a mormon has blessed my life in every sphere. The most valuable blessing I've received from it is my relationship with my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I just try to do what God wants me to I suppose. He knows a lot more than me. I love the scriptures, all of them, including the old testament. I really love to tell people I'm mormon. Christ commanded his apostles to take the Gospel to all ends of the Earth. When I tell someone I'm mormon, I feel like I'm a part of that! Also, I kind of think it's a cool little social niche. There's no group I'd rather associate myself with than mormons!

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Trent Jay Eliason
My parents told me there is a God. Also my scriptures tell me there is a God. Some of my friends tell me there is a God. My instinct tells me there is a God. I suppose my hope tells me there is a God. The organization of life and music and beauty and stuff seems to suggest some kind of designer. My conscience is some sort of evidence of consequence or divine judgment. The general widespread belief in God is some sort of evidence of God. But I would say the most reliable evidence of God for me comes from the Holy Ghost. The feelings that I have when I pray and ponder the word of God are heavenly. Among other things, they firmly impress me to believe in God. Those feelings are real. God is real. He lives. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Trent Jay Eliason
A Mormon is one of the coolest things in the world to be. A true Mormon follows the teachings of the Book of Mormon. Thus, a true Mormon strives to follow the teachings of Christ. When someone honestly, humbly seeks to follow Christ, they find joy. At least, I've found joy, and most everyone I know who sincerely seeks out Christ's church finds it. So, if I were you, and I were honestly wondering what it's like to be a mormon (as you, the reader of this answer, must be), I would maybe try being a mormon for a little bit and see if life improves. Read the Book of Mormon daily, don't drink coffee, be friendly to someone you hate, maybe even go to church! You know, all the mormony stuff. It'll do a lot of good for you. Show more Show less
