Hi I'm Yvonne

I'm a nurse, a wife, a mother of five and a grandma. I love to sew. I swim. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a nurse working with patients across the life span from ages 12 to 100+. I enjoy nursing because I love helping folks from all different situations in life. Our family loves the woods and the water and all that goes with it. I enjoy sewing and creating. Music is a big part of my life. Being a grandma brings happiness to my heart. I married my best friend and we have been happily married for about 33 years!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I truly believe the church's teachings are the way to find my way back to my Heavenly Father when my time on earth is finished. It is the church of Jesus Christ and He is the head of it. I feel His love as I follow the teachings of the church and try to keep all of the commandments, the most important one being to love God with all my heart and love my neighbor as myself. I was born into an active Mormon family but there came a time in my life--and I clearly remember that occasion--when I had to know for myself and no longer just believe others. I prayed and fasted and listened and then I received a confirmation for myself that this is the church of Jesus Christ and that I must follow Him to find true joy.

How I live my faith

I organize the music and play the organ and the piano for church meetings. I still make mistakes as I play, but I try to do my best. So far no one has shown me to the exit! One of my favorite callings was to teach the teenagers in Seminary every school weekday morning at 6:00 AM for an hour. That was an amazing way to start the day and it helped that I am an early morning person, although not all my students were! I have taught the youth and adults in church classes for years. I have taught and organized classes with the ladies in the women's service organization in the church. When I was 21 years old I went on a mission to Italy to share the gospel and learned to love the people that I served and lived among. Italy has a part of my heart still today.
