Hi I'm Joseph

I enjoy being a husband and father. I like to work build homes and work with the Boy Scouts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born at a very young age in Southern California. My dad was a pilot in the Air Force, so we moved around quite a bit - mostly around the US of A, but also to Europe. I enjoy anything that offers a practical use or application. I love to figure out how things work and how to fix them. I also enjoy working side by side with my kids on projects around the house and car. I cannot grow any plant to save my life! (Though all three of my kids have green thumbs) I graduated from Brigham Young University in Construction and Business Management. I love to build things, play any sport, fly in airplanes, and go camping.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up as a Mormon, we moved around to all kinds of states and countries. I was always amazed how quickly we found the local church in the area and made instant friends. I came to find out that the worldwide faith is just that - worldwide! No matter where we lived or traveled, we were always welcomed, accepted and had an opportunity to serve others. I love that about the Lord's gospel. It is one of love, acceptance and encouragement. As I grew up, I was able to develop a knowledge of my own about my Savior Jesus Christ. I was also keenly interested in how the Lord now has living prophets, the first of which in these modern times being Joseph Smith. Through reading the scriptures, including the Bible and Book of Mormon and praying to know God's will for me, I have come to know so many prescious truths. Seems strange for some, but it is completely REAL. There are constant blessings and reminders in my life that testify that Jesus Christ is real, that he loves me and that through his gospel there is safety and peace.

How I live my faith

So I am by no means a perfect person (just ask anyone on my basketball team!) -- but I try my best to improve each day and each week. I am especially buoyed up by my wife and kids. They are SO faithful. Whenever I serve with the children or youth, I am constantly reminded of how simple and true the gospel is. To see their faith and forgiveness is a source of happiness to me. I recently went through a stretch of unemployment. I definitely felt how much the gospel, the teachings of Jesus Christ and the caring of my local congregation family helped me get through that difficult time!
