Hi I'm Dennis

I develop software and work in IT. I served my country in the Air Force. I'm a husband, father and grandfather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington State. I moved to Utah and found the love of my life and married her. We joined the military and served for 13 years in Mississippi, Washington, Minnesota, Iceland and Colorado. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and have centered my career around technology and computers. I've always had a love for things techy. I currently work for an IT service provider as a software developer. I have been married to my better half for 25 years and have two daughters and one granddaughter. I like hiking, camping and archery which I have done mostly with our local Boy Scout troop.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon for seven years and have been thankful for every day. My wife was the main reason I became a Mormon. She grew up with the gospel in her life. It took a long time to realize it, but I finally decided it was time for a change in my life. One that would take me to the next level. It was definitely something out of my comfort zone, but I had a patient wife, wonderful Bishop and friends for support. I was baptized on Valentine's day. I have grown to love the gospel and the truths I discover on a regular basis. The scriptures, including the Book of Mormon, are words from God, for us in these modern times. This is what I believe to be true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by being a good citizen and a good example to others. I have been active as a volunteer in the Church even before I was baptized. One of my first callings was as a youth volleyball coach. After I was baptized, I served as the Boy Scout Assistant Scoutmaster and leader of the 11 yr old scout patrol. I also served as a Family History consultant, helping find relatives and teaching others to use the genealogy software and web sites. My wife and I have taught Sunday school from ages 3 to 5. This was not the easiest thing for me, but my talented wife/school teach got me through the more challenging spots. I now serve as the clerk for our ward. It is one of the most rewarding jobs I've had so far. The best part about serving and going to church is the people. They are the most genuine souls you will ever meet.
