Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a trusted friend, a happy Southern Californian, and a devoted Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised just outside of Los Angeles, CA. I grew up in a faithful LDS family, and I surrounded myself with a tight group of friends that consisted of both Mormons and non-Mormons alike. Growing up in Southern California, I developed a love for sunshine, In-n-Out, and people from different cultures, particularly the Hispanic culture. I came to Utah to attend BYU after high school. There I made more friends, and gained a great education in Business Management (Organizational Behavior/Human Resources) and Spanish. During my third year, I made the choice to serve a mission for our church. Called to serve in Mesa, Arizona, I was able to put my Spanish to use, and I saw miracles and grew immensely. I'm now back in Utah finishing up my undergrad degree. When I'm not studying or working, I enjoy serving, reading, working out, bike riding, listening to music, doodling, and eating lots of hummus and guacamole.

Why I am a Mormon

Over the years, certain experiences have opened my eyes to how lost I would feel if I weren't a member of His church. If I were not a Mormon, I know I would feel much less fulfilled and guided, and much more overwhelmed and regretful. I applaud the people that aren't members of my faith that can go thru life without those feelings! For me, I need the Gospel of Jesus Christ to remind me to have hope, to listen to my conscience, and to treat everyone around me with love and respect. Knowing that I can communicate directly with my Heavenly Father, and that He has given me so many tools to do so--prayer, church meetings, living prophets, scriptures, and the priesthood--is what sustains me through whatever trials I encounter. My life isn't perfect, and I don't claim to know everything, but I do know that my relationships are fuller, my progress is quicker, and my days are happier because I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon, I have come to love living my faith every day of the week, not just on Sundays. I always strive to make it a priority to pray and read the scriptures on a daily basis, which helps to keep my perspective clear and my spirit calm. I set aside time to turn to God for answers to the questions I have, and I include Him in my daily decision making. These simple actions ensure that I am always spiritually in-tune, and that I carry a sense of peace and direction with me wherever I go throughout my days. As a part of my local congregation, I have several responsibilities that also enrich my life and (hopefully) the lives of those around me. I visit two girls my age and act as their friend, confidante, and go-to person for any help or service they might need. We strive to look out for one another, serve one another, and teach one another about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of my closest friendships have come from these assignments I have had to befriend the women of my congregation. I am also a part of the leadership of the local congregation's women's organization. I work in a "presidency" of three girls to ensure that all the girls in our area are being taken care of in all senses--spiritually, physically, financially, and socially. We visit them, plan activities, and organize weekly church lessons. I specifically oversee the church lessons. I work to make sure that they are spiritually uplifting classes that everyone understands and enjoys. It is my hope that everyone leaves church feeling renewed, supported, and more determined to live a Christlike life. I love my assignment , because I am able to use my talents to bless others lives, and it in turn develops and strengthens the gifts I've been given.
