Hi I'm Larry

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and now reside in Arizona.

About Me

I have seven children and 5 grand children ranging from 26 to 5. I work as an auditor.

Why I am a Mormon

The best thing about being a Mormon is I am expected and encouraged to do my best in all aspects of my life. No excuses, no blaming others or shifting responsibility for my behavior. I am in a partnership with myself, my wife and my God. God will not fail to do his part to help me. This includes providing the atonement which provides a way for me to repent and improve. He encourages and teaches me through prayer, the scriptures, and other of His children who set an "example of the believers". My wife is already a far better person than I, which includes encouraging and being patient with me as I work at becoming a better person. Come to think of it, she does the same for the children. She also spends countless hours reading, helping them with their lessons, an teaching them correct behavior. Keeping my eye on the Savior and his example keeps me focused. If I loose my focus for a time, I can always find His light and get back on track. The society of the saints serves as a wonderful environment for my efforts, as most members of the church are patient with personal imperfections because they are on the same path, whether ahead of you, behind you, or beside you. A good physician knows he cannot heal a patient on his own. He needs his own best effort, God's help, and the patient's best effort. Muscles atrophy when not used. Physical therapy is painful and arduous but without the patient doing all he can the physician cannot, and God will not, completely heal the patient.

How I live my faith

I plan time in activities designed to bring the spirit of God; reading the scriptures, listening to the words of God's servants, trying to keep the commandments despite temptations to deviate. And when I fall short, God calls be back to the right path. I try again. I keep trying because it is good to do good. It blesses those you love as well as those around you. It gives you peace inside.
