Hi I'm Sami

I am an inspiring chemist, student activist, and best of all a Mormon!

About Me

I am currently a chemistry major and I love every second of it. I love the the anticipation of being lab and the intrigue of my organic chemistry lectures. While I feel like my life has been consumed by the sciences.. I am still an avid adventurer, and student activist on campus. I am the treasurer of the campus chemistry club, I am a bronco volunteer, and I am on the sustainability action and planning committee for student housing. I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, and yoga. I try to live my life outdoors as well as in the lab. I hope to one day combine my love for both in a career that will help sustain the planet.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a recent convert to the church and it has been a blessing in every way imaginable. I was raised Christian, and attended a Catholic high school. I didn't grow up strong in my faith. I felt out of place, and not particularly happy with where I was. I had a growing curiosity for my spiritual health. I needed to find happiness, and that's when I found the church. The first service I attended embarked my journey to spiritual enlightenment. I started taking lessons, and was baptized three weeks later. I've never had something make so much sense to me in such a short time. I feel blessed to be a follower of Jesus Christ. I know that this church is true. I know that it might have taken me nineteen years to get here but, nothing will stop my growing faith and love for the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through attending service every Sunday, as well as participating in local service activities with other members. I always share my faith with my friends. They know that if they ever need anything, they can count on me. I love service opportunities and hope to one day serve a mission.
