Hi I'm Britnee Fortenberry

Hi. I'm 18 years old. I am recently married. My most prized possession is my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Who am I? Well, i'm Britnee. I was born in Logan, Utah but only lived there till i was two. I've lived all over Georgia ever since. I have 3 brothers and 5 sisters.I just recently graduated from high school and i'm now attending college full time and working part time. I have been to France, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium. I was on the marching band Color Guard team for my four years of high school. I was also in the band. I started off playing the oboe, than the trumpet, and finally ended with the french horn. I can also play the flute and the piano. I'm not big into reading and writing but i enjoy crafts. I was taught to crochet, sew, cross stitch, mend, quilt. You name it, i know it. I also taught myself to knit. I'm big into journal writing, reading my scriptures, and playing with my 2 sweet nieces and 3 nephews.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon. I've never known such joy in all my life until the moment I knew that this gospel was true. I was born into a great family with two wonderful and fully active parents. I was raised in the gospel, going to church every Sunday and attending every youth activity, fireside, and baptism. I always thought I knew that this was the true gospel but it wasn't until I read The Book of Mormon that I knew for sure. I took the challenge to read it with an open mind and a prayer in my heart and than turn to the Lord in prayer and inquire as to the truth of the gospel. I expected some miraculous sign of its truth but my answer came quietly and simply. In D&C 9:7-8 we read that we must work and than inquire of the Lord and if it is true and right, we will feel a burning in our bosom. That is what happened to me. I JUST KNEW. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is the church of our Lord and Savior. I know that we have a Prophet on this earth that receives revelation from our Father in heaven. I know that he was called of God to lead and guide this church. I know that the Lord loves each of us and desires for us to be faithful and take advantage of the power of the atonement and return home to live with him for eternity. I know that the Lord has a plan for all of us and that if we follow that plan that we will be truly happy. I know that the Lord loves me individually. I know that he atoned for my sins individually. I have a testimony of the truth of The Book of Mormon. I know that it is an inspired book written for our day and for our benefit. I know that families can be together forever through the great sealing power that is found in the temples through the priesthood. I have a testimony of the power of the priesthood, that it is the authority to act in the name of the Lord. That great blessings come from the Lord to his children through the priesthood. I know that the Savior will come again and I am preparing now to see Him.

How I live my faith

I find great joy in service so I take advantage of and seek out ways to serve in any way possible. In the act of service I feel the closest to the Lord. The easiest way to live my faith is to be an example of the believers. I would consider myself a great example of a faithful member. I try in all my activities to be as Christ-like as possible.
