Hi I'm Kelli Gonzalez

I'm a wife, teacher, Coloradan, and a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, attended BYU-Idaho from 2009-2012, and moved to Colorado in 2014. I was married in December of 2012. My husband and his family are converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have blessed my life in so many ways. I was raised LDS and my faith continues to grow as I get older. I am currently working at a preschool in Denver and loving every moment I spend with the little ones in my class. I love living in Colorado and spending time outside in nature. I enjoy hiking, biking, long boarding, kayaking, cooking, reading, and crafting. I am one of seven siblings who live all over the country and I love being with my family!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon gives me joy! There is nothing in this world that can make me feel the way the gospel does. I know that I am on this earth for a purpose, to bless others, to learn and grow, and to find happiness. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me more than I can comprehend. This knowledge brings me peace during hard times. I know that I can pray to Him and lean on Him for help and comfort. He has always been there for me. I know that I can be with my family forever. Knowing this beings me such happiness. I know that I will never have to be without my family. When my loved ones pass on, I have a knowledge that I will see them again and that brings me joy. The comfort, peace, and happiness that I have because of God is why I LOVE being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by recognizing God in my life. Every day I see how I have been blessed by God. I live with happiness and peace because I know God. I know God through prayer and receiving answers and comfort when I pray. Because I am happy, I try to share the joy I feel with others.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Kelli Gonzalez
Families are important in the church because we help each other to grow and to love. We learn so much from our families. Our family is a place where we can find love and peace. The family is central to God's plan for us. We can have children and bring them up in a place where they are loved and taught the truth. I am grateful that I have parents who chose to bring me into the world and raised me in a loving home where I learned about Jesus Christ. One of the greatest joys that we can find is to be with our families forever. It gives me comfort to know that no matter what happens I can be with my family eternally. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Kelli Gonzalez
Just like in the times of Moses, we have a prophet today. Because Heavenly Father loves us, he gives us a prophet to lead and direct the church. Sometimes our world seems hectic and confusing. The prophet helps me to know what things matter most and how I can make my life balanced and peaceful. Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. I trust Thomas S. Monson with all my heart. I know that he is chosen by God to give us direction and hope. I feel such a peace and warmth when I listen to the prophet speak. I know that he is a true prophet of God. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Kelli Gonzalez
Yes, families can be together forever-even after death! This fact is one that brings me the greatest joy. These times are some of the most difficult, but I can find peace when there is a death in my family. I know that this life is not the end. This is another reason the temple is so important to me. I was able to marry my sweet husband in the temple which is the only place we can be sealed for eternity. I know that my family will be together always, what a joy! Show more Show less
