Hi I'm Janet Bates

I live and work on a family farm. I Love to be outdoors working with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of 5 boys and one girl. We own and work on a farm raising primarily alfalfa hay. I like to drive tractors and rake and bale hay. All the children have been homeschooled as well as involved with the public school band and sports. I am known for my homemade bread which I make regularly. I like to sew, woodwork, garden, read books and play piano. I've been involved for many years with the webelos in cub scouting and am the day camp director for our district.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family and raised with the gospel as a central part of my life. I have always felt the joy and security of knowing who I am, where I came from and where I am going after this life. The family life I was raised in was loving, respectful and a secure haven from the troubles of the world. I wanted to raise my own children with that same environment and give them the security of knowing who they are and what they can become through the gospel of jesus Christ. It is truly the way to happiness.

How I live my faith

I participate in the town's music booster club as treasurer and help organize and raise funds for the High School band to participate in musical activities outside of school. I help take care of those in need in our area by supplying food or transportation or other help. I occassionally teach classes on bread making, sewing, canning and cooking. I have done lots of cub scout activities and especially like to help them with woodworking and cooking over the fire.
