Hi I'm Amber

I'm a sophomore in high school. I have a passion for music and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a junior in high school, but I am taking classes at the community college to get ahead. I love reading, cooking, my family, and spending time with my two sisters. Tennis is my passion. My brother in law coaches me and I'm always striving to improve my game. My other love is the piano. I spend usually an hour a day playing hymns, sheet music, or making things up as I go. I am grateful to be born with talents, and hope to develop them to their full potential. When I graduate, I hope to attend college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, or Western Washington University, or study abroad. I also want to serve a mission for the LDS church. When I grow up, I want to be a mother, wife, friend, and worthy daughter of God. Along with these things, I hope to study biology in college.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised an active member in the LDS church. When I was little, I attended meetings regularly, under the supervision of my parents. When I reached the age of 12, I actually began to wonder. I'd never doubted my parents, but it was time to stop leaning on their testimonies. I threw myself into reading the entire Book Of Mormon, and pondering, and praying about the gospel and the church's teachings. It was gradual and quiet, but I began to feel a sense of peace when reading. It was a feeling of confirmation and happiness. Now that I have the knowledge of this truth, I can be blessed and happy in this life, and the one to come. I know that if anyone out there reads and ponders with a true intent, they will find that The Book Of Mormon and church are true. I can testify to every person in the world, that I know the church is true and that Joseph Smith was the prophet who restored the gospel onto the earth. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, who suffered for our sins. And I'm so thankful that I know all these things to be true. The church blesses my life continually.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday, as well as my youth activities in the middle of the week. Along with these, I attend seminary (an early morning class for high school students) daily. These meetings help to strengthen my testimony, and get me through the scary place high school is today. In addition, I read my scriptures and pray daily, and participate in family activities. I live the standards of the gospel, such as the Ten Commandments and Word of Wisdom, because they are what is best for me, and what will help to live with my Heavenly Father again. I try to represent my savior and and his church in a good way, by maintaing my standards in conversation, action and thought. Every day. I remind myself that I am a precious daughter of God, and I am royalty. I act and think righteously, and stand as a witness of God in all that I do.
