Hi I'm Lidia

I grew up in Guatemala. I am a wife, a mother of two, a college student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mother of two girls, a daughter, a sister and a college student. I enjoy reading, cooking, cleaning, walking, working out, listening to uplifting music and learning new things. I'm currently a college student trying to balance home, school, church and many other areas of my life. My goal in life is to instill good principles and values in my children so that they can become women of faith and courage. I'm grateful for my husband who encourages me to be better each day and reminds me of what's really important in life which are the things that money can't buy.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were introduced to the church by their neighbors who invited them for a family night. My dad saw something special about this family. He liked the way the members of the family treated each other with much love and respect. He wanted to have a family like theirs. Not long after that, my parents met with two young missionaries who taught them more about the gospel and how families could be together forever and not just for this life. My parents loved the message and were soon baptized. At the time I was only two years old and had no idea the impact the gospel was going to have in my life. At the age of twelve I gained a testimony of my own that the church was true and that if I obeyed the commandments, I was going to be happy. That is the reason why I'm a mormon because it makes me happy! Throughout my life, I've had countless blessings that have helped me draw closer to Heavenly Father. I can truly say that the gospel has been one of the greatest blessings in my life. Another one has been to be able to have married in the Temple to a wonderful man of almost ten years, who loves and honors God. I'm also blessed and grateful for my beautiful daughters who have brought us immense happiness and joy. I love my family so much and I know that family relationships can be perpetuated beyond the grave and that I can live with them again someday. This is the reason that keeps me motivated each day. Without this knowledge I don't know what my life would be like. What I love about the church is that is family oriented and that each member of a family is unique and plays an important role in Heavenly Father's Plan.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by holding weekly family home evenings, daily family prayer and scripture study. We come together as a family at dinner time each night. All these things help us to strengthen our own family bond. At times it can be overwhelming to juggle so many things in life and easily loose sight of what's really important. Thankfully, we are not alone. Heavenly Father is there for us to help us when we need him. There is no way we can accomplish much without his help. If we trust in him, and cleave unto him, and make our lives God-centered, there's no doubt that everything else will fall into place.
