Hi I'm Parker

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for over three years now. My wife and I are expecting our first child. I am very excited to be a dad. I recently finished my MBA and am looking forward to a little extra free time. My wife and I just purchased our first home. Home ownership is awesome but a 30 year mortgage is a little daunting. I hope to learn how to be handy around the house if I ever need to fix or remodel something in the future. My wife and I love to be outdoors. We enjoy camping and surfing. We love playing with our two dogs. Overall, I try to maintain a good balance between work, fun, and church.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was raised in a loving atmosphere by my parents and siblings. I was taught honesty and to keep God's commandments. I learned from a young age to recognize the existence of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I felt them near when I followed the straight and narrow path. I felt a void of the spirit when I made mistakes. My conversion story is comprised of many little spiritual experiences over my lifetime. I am a "Mormon" because of the confirming power of the Spirit. I read the Book of Mormon, went to the church, and asked Heavenly Father specifically to know if this was true. Serving a mission for the church was the place I put my faith to the test. My conversion was helped by teaching others about the gospel of Jesus Christ. My mission solidified my course in life.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week possible. I try to develop my faith by building my testimony every day. Sometimes it comes in the form of praying while driving into work or reading a quick scripture on my cell phone app. I serve in the church. My responsibilities have ranged from teaching Sunday school to children or making sure that families in need had food in their fridge. I try to be a good example to everyone I meet.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith is the first of many continuing prophets in the "latter days" He was chosen by God to serve in the same capacity as ancient prophets such as Noah and Moses. Members of the church honor him as the prophet Heavenly Father used to restore order and the complete gospel of Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the name of Jesus' church and explains who we worship Show more Show less
