Hi I'm George

I spent 35 years as a radio/TV announcer and play-by-play sportscaster. Now I am a graphic and web site designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts with emphasis in broadcasting and communications. I worked in the radio and television / advertising industries for 35 years. In my lifetime I have voiced or appeared in over 5000 radio and TV commercials. For the past 14 years I have worked as a graphic designer of print materials and web sites. I played lead guitar in a 60s rock band as a teenager. Writing music is my hobby. I collect humorous songs. I enjoy watching sporting events and I love MAC computers.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I first felt inside that it was the church of our Savior Jesus Christ when I was 12 years old. At age nineteen I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and prayed about it and received a spiritual confirmation that it was a divine record and a true witness of Christ. That same witness of the Holy Spirit was manifest even stronger as I served my church for two years as a missionary. Although I am a life-long member, I have never ignored the criticism of the LDS church from outside sources. My attitude has always been that if there was any truth in what church critics were saying I wanted to know it. As a result, I have always welcomed the opportunity to read and study the writings of those who oppose the "Mormon" religion. I have examined this church upside and down, inside and out — from every angle — looking carefully at what others claim to be faults. I can honestly say that I have never found any derogatory claims that were correct or that were not simply exaggerations of the facts. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or the Mormon church as it is called) is the restored church of Jesus Christ — restored in these days to prepare the children of God for the second coming of our Savior. I have a lifetime of spiritual experiences that only confirm the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ — found in it's fullness in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that if a person will sincerely examine this church, searching for the truth of God and praying for God's witness, they will come to know of it's truthfulness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day of my life. It is not just something I think about or do on Sundays. Every day I study the scriptures — the Bible, the Book of Mormon and other scriptural writings. I pray many times during the day and we pray as a family at least twice a day. When I need assistance I pray for spiritual guidance in the things that I do and the decisions I must make. Our loving Heavenly Father has not left us alone on this earth but has provided prayer as a means to communicate with Him and receive guidance through the Holy Spirit. I strive daily to live the teachings of Jesus Christ in my dealings with others and my family. Following the Savior brings a peace of mind and spirit that can be gained in no other way. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ enhances our capacity to love others and to feel love in return.
