Hi I'm Teresa

I am a happy, full-time, single mother of four and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have four dangerously intelligent, beautiful girls. They are 4,8,9, and 11, and believe (rightly) that they are the center of my universe. They do dance, piano, tennis, and gymnastics. We seem to spend a lot of time in the car going here and there. Friday nights we have pizza and a movie night in our PJs. Every day is full of laughter and tears. As if 4 kids weren't enough, our family also includes 2 dogs, 2 tortoises, a cat, and a fish. We love bugs, going to the park, camping, cooking, watching movies, and playing Dance Party on the Wii. I grew up on a farm in Idaho. My parents still live there and we spend several weeks every summer there riding horses, digging in the dirt, breathing air that has never been breathed before, and basking in the starlight of the milky way. We consider it our annual refresh and recharge. I love the city and the amenities it offers in part because of this yearly rural retreat. I enjoy eating out. My favorite food is a toss up between Sushi and Mexican. I also love spaghetti, hamburgers, ice cream, anything with peanut butter, and sour patch kids. I love to write, and I love, LOVE to read and never seem to find enough time to satiate my appetite for words. Someday I hope to publish a series of children's' picture books and maybe a novel or two.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the Church all my life and feel like it's given me a great foundation. As a child in primary, I learned to love singing and provided with my first opportunities for public speaking. As a teenager in the Young Women program, I began to understand my identity, purpose, and destiny as a daughter of God. I also learned to make goals and was taught how best to achieve them. I was given opportunities to develop leadership skills and qualities. And I was encouraged to think about situations before they happened and decide how I would handle them if they were presented to me. This lesson proved to be invaluable, as sometimes it's harder to make the right decision when you are in the situation itself. I love that I have a family away from my family no matter where in the world I am. The organization and the curriculum of the church is the same wherever I go and I love the familiarity and consistency. I adore my family. I have two wonderful, loving parents, four big hearted brothers and a sweet, funny baby sister. I desire to have an eternal family and am grateful for the blessings of the temple. When I find that special someone again and fall in love, I'm not going to settle for "'Til death do us part" or "so long as we both shall live”. I want to be with him forever, on earth and in heaven after we leave here. And that is just what the blessings of the temple offers. If we are faithful to each other and keep our promises to the Lord, our children also become part of this heavenly promise—sealed to us forever.... It is all part of God's beautiful plan for our happiness and I feel truly blessed to feel his love for me.

How I live my faith

I have, what I believe is, one of the funnest jobs in the church. I meet with the 8-11 year old girls every other week for about an hour. In that time, we make a fun craft, share a story or message that relates to the gospel of Jesus Christ, then finish our activity with a snack. I love working with these young girls. They are very imaginative and creative and if we have 12 girls come to our activity, we have 12 original and individual finished products at the end of the day. We've made things like dream catchers and duct tape flowers; learned to properly set a dinner table and creatively fold napkins; and painstakingly tried to demonstrate crocheting and quilting, which wasn't a couple of favorites for the girls, haha, but at least they can say they've done it. My co-worker and I make a very fun and efficient team. I think that I sometimes we have as much or more fun that our girls do.
