Hi I'm Camille Ashcroft

I grew up in southern Arizona. I am currently serving a mission in the Montana Billings mission.

About Me

I am currently working as an office staff worker at Casa Grande Counseling Service. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to work with some wonderful people that have taught so many new skills and able to help people in need. I am also currently getting prepared to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been called to serve the Montana Billings mission. I am so excited, and nervous, to be able to serve the people of Montana. I hope that I can serve them and bring them closer to their savior and loving Heavenly Father as best as I can. I also love to read and am actually in a book club. I also like to sing and try and play the piano. I'm not very good but that is a talent i hope to develop soon. I also love to play card and board games with my friends and family, Phase 10 is one of my favorites. I also love to watch my nephew and nieces since I don't get to see them very often. Well that's me in a nut shell I guess. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon and was taught it's teachings that i followed and believed till my father walked out on my mom and left the church. I still believed in many ways but my testimony lessened a lot the first year after my parents divorce. I was so upset that I had to suffer so much during that time that i didn't want to believe or listen to God. So i didn't, but my mom did. During that time i saw as my mom drew even closer to God as she prayed and studied the scriptures even more than ever. I then saw as the people in our ward went out of their way to help my mom and me and tried to be there for us. My moms testimony helped me keep a hold of the small one that I still had, and then as i went to seminary and studied the new testament i learned how much God does love me and wants only whats best for me and is here for me. I learned this to be even more true as I studied the Book of Mormon, another testament of God's love for his people all across the world, and when my best friend since I was 6 died my Junior year of High School. This was an incredibly hard time for me, I felt as if a part of me died with her. I especially remembered one night when I was crying in bed unable to sleep. I finally prayed asking the Lord to help me and telling him that I couldn't deal with all of this any longer. I then felt such warmth and peace surround me as if someone was literally wrapping their arms around me. I know that this was the Holy Ghost, who my savior and Heavenly Father sent to comfort me through this hard time. I know that this is the only church in the world that the Lord runs and is part of. Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, and the Holy Ghost are real and love us more than we can possibly comprehend. They are their for us and want to help us if we are just willing to humbly ask for their help. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

The way that I live my faith is by trying to live my standards to the fullest. those include dressing modestly at all times: which is having my legs from my knee up covered, shoulders, chest, and stomach also covered. I also don't cuss or use other offensive or crude humor as much as possible (i'm not perfect yet). I try to be honest in all that I do and try to help others around me. Another way that I am living my faith is through callings in the church. I am currently in charge of setting up activities monthly for all women in the church that live in Casa Grande that are between the ages of 18-30 that are single. I also help and support the President who is over the Women in our church who are single and between the ages of 18-30

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Camille Ashcroft
We are asked to donate 10% of our income because the Lord has always commanded us to pay tithing since the time of the old testemant (see Malachi 3:8-10). We were told that it was to be 10% through modern revelation of Joseph Smith. The reason why I personally pay an honest tithing is because the example of my mother. She raised all of us with the firm belief that we "can't afford to not pay our tithing." And I have seen the miracles and truth of that statement. My mother went through a lot of financial difficulty as a single mom during the recession but she always paid her tithing and because of that we always had enough to meet our needs. When asked about those hard times she always says I don't know how it happened or where the money came from but I always some how had enough to pay our bills and meet our needs. I know with all my heart the truth in the Lord's blessing to those who pay their tithing in Malachi 3:10 "I will.. open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." I Know that tithing is a commandment of God and if we obey he will bless us and take care of all of our needs. Show more Show less
