Hi I'm Marcus

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving my mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Costa Rica, San Jose East Mission. I was born in Louisiana, but raised in Texas. I will be attending Brigham Young University in Provo after my mission. I love to play sports, specifically soccer. I am a 2nd degree black belt in Korean martial arts. Dancing and partying are second nature to me. Being alone and sitting is not an option for me and you can always find me hanging out with anyone of my good friends. I've been Eagle Scout since I was fourteen and went horse riding at the Philmont scout ranch. I love being in the outdoors and camping is always a must for me. You can always find a smile on my face and me finding the glass half full. I love talking to people and making new friends. Giving everyone a smile is my daily goal and I am always willing to help a friend in need.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I have personally felt the Holy Ghost testify to me of the truthfulness of the gospel. I have received peace and happiness through the atonement and have gained the desire to help everyone else come unto Christ and feel the same joy. I have learned that by carefully studying and pondering the words of the scriptures, everyone can find truth. I know that through living the gospel standards, God will not forsake me or anyone else that does so. He will lifts us, give us comfort, and when it seems as if we can't go on he will strengthen us to overcome any possible trial. I know this and I know that through looking outward towards others when we least desire to do so, we will blessed beyond belief. For in doing so we are coming closer to the Savior and his amazing saving grace.

How I live my faith

Before I went on my mission I lived by example. While I may not have been openly speaking about the gospel everyday, I wanted to show the joy I had in the church. I tried to be very open with my religion and answered as many question about the church as I could. I love to give service and charity is very important to me. I do my best to study and ponder the scriptures for answers to my prayers. Practicing Spanish and dedicating my time and effort to helping others while serving is my main goal. I know that once I lose myself for the people everything else will fit into place. Being able to speak the language can come after I learn to listen to the needs of the people. Unconditional love is something I very passionate about. I never wish to view people as numbers or just by baptisms. They are Sons and Daughters of God and should be treated as much. They need to know and I will put all my effort into make sure they know. Christ has giving me an invitation to be a fisher of men and I want to accept it and bring others unto him.
