Hi I'm Lisa

I live in Parker, Colorado. I was born and raised in Colorado. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Colorado. I love Colorado and the beautiful surroundings I have to enjoy each day. I am the 6th child and 4th daughter in a family of 8 children. I enjoyed growing up in a big family and am very grateful for the relationships I have with my siblings now that we are adults. I attended Brigham Young University where I majored in Elementary Education and met my wonderful husband Matt. We have been married for 21 years and have five great children. I work at an Elementary School and I love working with the children. I love to see their faces light up when they have struggled with a concept and finally after much work understand it. I love to travel and have relatives across much of the country. I would love to travel to Australia and New Zealand. I enjoy going to movies, attending the temple and playing games with my children. A perfect day for me would be going to the temple and then sitting outside enjoying nature and a good meal with my family. I am so thankful for them and for all the wonderful friends that fill my life with much happiness. I feel so blessed to have all that the Lord has seen fit to give me and I hope to share what I know and what I have with those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was eight years old. My parents were both members and were great examples to me of serving in the Church. I relied on their testimonies for most of my growing up years and realized once I was on my own that I had to strengthen my own testimony. As I went to college and lived on my own, my testimony was strengthened by making my own mistakes and repenting and watching others who set wonderful examples for me. I always knew that I wanted to be married to a member of the Church who wanted to raise children in the gospel, had a strong testimony and loved the Gospel as I did. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It gives meaning to my life and helps me focus on those things that are eternally important. No matter where I am in the world and I go into a an LDS chapel, I feel that I am home. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that through him the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was restored to the earth. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today and that he receives revelation for the members throughout the world. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that because of the atonement and by repentance we may all return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love being part of my church community. Right now I am helping in the church by serving as a community relations specialist. I have been blessed to get to know many of the people in the community at food banks, schools and town government. It is wonderful to live in a town that has many great Christian people that want good things for our schools, children and the people in the community. I also love the program in the church that organizes the women together to visit and support each other. I have gotten to know many of my fellow sisters and have been blessed by their friendships and a recipient of much service to me and my family.
