Hi I'm Janette

I was born in Utah and grew up in Ohio. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of five children and have stayed home with them most of their lives. I love learning abut natural therapies, garden, crochet and do genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a teenager, I attended a church meeting. One of the speakers spoke on Jesus Christ as our Savior, our Friend, and our Brother. I knew at that point that I wanted that kind of relationship with my Savior. There have been many points since then, I could have changed my mind. I haven’t. Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Jesus Christ is my Savior. He died for my sins. He is my friend. He loves me no matter what. He is my brother. He has proved himself time and time again, when as I travel through this life I am faced with challenges and trials. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the life and mission of Jesus Christ. I know that he lives and through the example of his life here on earth and his teachings, I can go back to my Heavenly Father and live with them when my mission here on earth is done.

How I live my faith

So many times the answer to today’s problems can be found in yesterday’s stories. I tell my children stories from the scriptures and as we discuss the stories we learn lessons that we can apply to our lives today. I look for stories of our ancestors and as I pass them on to the children, we learn many things. We learn that life does have meaning and a purpose. Every day, I try to live my life as an example for others and that my children can look to. I’m never really perfect at it. But, each day I strive to be a better person, a better daughter, a better wife and mother. I do this in hopes that someday my grandchildren will look to my example and find some answers as I look to my grandparents and find answers that help me live my life.
