Hi I'm Amanda

I grew up in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am just a normal gal. I work in customer service and I take classes on the side. I love photography and try to take as many pictures as I can. I love to read and have a pretty good start to a library. I love art and I love college football.

Why I am a Mormon

My story is not special. It is a story that has been told time and time again but I will tell it again. I was blessed to grow up in the church; I grew up in a family of devout members. I never had to find my own testimony because I had everyone around me to lean upon. When I was 17 I fell away, I stopped going to church and by the time I was in my mid-20's I did not even identify as a Mormon. I did what I thought I wanted and didn't think twice about my life. I thought the world was all gray and it is not shocking how miserable I was. I hated myself. I did things I thought would make me happy; I had a fancy job with a fancy title and a big paycheck. . but still I was miserable. That misery and letting Satan take over my life led me to make some pretty huge mistakes. One day I decided I might go back to church, the next Sunday I went. I had forgotten the peace that the gospel brings. In that one hour of Sacrament meeting I felt more peace then I had in 10 years. The next day my life changed completely. Everything changed in my life. I was at my rock bottom and the world was black. I was so depressed I could barely move that next Sunday but I got up and I went to church. I cried throughout church because once again I was at peace. That night I got down on my knees and prayed harder and longer then I have ever before in my life. Then I got off my knees and read my scriptures. I did this every night that proceeded and slowly the Light came back. Through the bleakest time in my life every person I called a friend abandoned me. The people that remained were my Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ, and my family. It was in those darkest hours that I was left with nothing except the truth. In that truth I found out who I really am and what is truly important in this life. In those dark times the gospel found me and changed my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by attending church every week and learning new things that I can take out into the world. I live my faith by being true to God and myself and living the teachings.I live my faith by doing everything I say I am going to do and have been commanded to do. I have dedicated myself and my life to the Lord. I work as temple worker and I am also a church service missionary. In my ward I oversee a district of visiting teachers and I teach 3-4 year olds the gospel.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

We give 10% of our income to the Lords church to ensure the work of His church continues. We are willing to do this because I believe that it shows my willingness to obey God and all of his commandments. . .not just the easy ones. Show more Show less
