Hi I'm Alyssa Lone

I love to dance. I love to learn and laugh. I am a missionary and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will be serving in the Chile Santiago North Mission. Before my mission, I attended college as a dance major and received my associates degree in dance. I love to dance, anytime, anywhere. I like being outdoors, hiking, camping, swimming, and going on adventures. I love to learn new things and memorizing quotes or scriptures is one of my favorite things to do in my free time. If I could eat only two things every day for the rest of my life, it would be tacos and smoothies. Yum! I love meeting new people, and make new friends wherever I go. I have two younger sisters who are my best friends. I spend a lot of every day laughing and smiling. Life is better when you smile:) I love to spend time with my family and I'm so excited to one day start a forever family of my own. I love the gospel and I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to be sharing my testimony with the world.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church a few years before I was born. I have grown up with the gospel my whole life, and somehow have always known it is true. Many members who have grown up in the church talk about how they went through a time of confusion about whether or not the church is true, and they had to learn for themselves, but that's not the case with me. I've just always known. But even still, it has taken me my whole lifetime to develop the testimony I have today. I have witnessed so many miracles in my life, and in the lives of others, that have caused me to know without a doubt that the gospel is true. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, I know that he died for me, and for all people, so that we may return to our Father in Heaven again someday. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God who restored the Gospel to the earth. I know the Book of Mormon to be true. I know that it is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that it has been restored to the earth in our day to help prepare us and to strengthen our testimonies, to help us to understand the gospel more fully. I have a testimony that by keeping God's commandments, I am living a righteous life, and because I am striving to keep his commandments, I will be able to repent of mistakes that I make in my life, and that He will forgive me. Recently I have started living on my own, away from my family, which has especially made me appreciative of the Church and all that it has to offer us. I know that being where I'm supposed to be, when I'm supposed to be there-at church meetings, ward prayer, family home evening-really has an impact on my my everyday life. I feel so blessed to have the gospel, and to know with a surety that it is true. I love my Heavenly Father, and I look forward to the day when i will once again be in His presence.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints. I am excercising my faith by leaving behind many things for 18 months to travel to Chile to share the truth of the gospel with the people there. I strive every day to be an example to others by striving to come unto Christ through my words and actions. I hope that through my service to the Lord, I can help other people to enjoy the happiness and joy that this gospel brings and that my family has experienced because of the blessings we have recieved by having the fulness of the gospel in our lives.
