Hi I'm Lindsay

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Young Single Adult trying to figure out what to do with my life. I have gone to University for 2 years and also College for a year. Deciding what to do for a career is tough. I have a lot of things I'm interested in, I just don't know what I want to do that will best use those interests. So, instead of being indecisive in school, I'm currently working to save money to go on a mission in the next year or so. Since I'm not able to figure things out with school, why not make good use of my time and serve the Lord? Other than that, I'm just an average person. I love to read and hang out with my friends. I love to laugh and have a good time. I really like watching hockey and basketball. My newest interest is playing Just Dance on the Wii with my friends. It's fantastic! I also really enjoy going to YSA activities in my area. There are always a lot of really fun people to meet and talk to. The activities themselves are great also.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because having the gospel in my life has given me peace and joy. I know that all the hardships and trials I go through are gor my own benefit and learning. I may not see that as I'm going through the trial, but I know that there is something better to come. Being a member of the Church also brings a sense of belonging. You may not feel like you fit in with the people at school, or work, but you can always feel welcome and a sense of belonging at church. Also, knowing that my elder brother, Jesus Christ, Atoned for my sins so that I can live with Him and my Heavenly Father again brings me great joy and comfort. I know that if I make a mistake I can be forgiven. Following the teachings of Jesus Christ and His living prophets make life easier. They give me guidelines to follow that will keep me on the right path and out of trouble. Being a member of the Church is a big part of who I am and always will be. There's nothing better than knowing that you are a daughter (or son) of a Heavenly Father that knows you by name, and loves you more than you can ever imagine. I can't imagine life without this knowledge. Knowing just that makes life a lot easier. The rest of the gospel just helps make the rest easier as well.

How I live my faith

As a member of a YSA ward, I get the chance to be the one who does Mix and Mingle. I'm the one that encourages the members of my YSA ward to stay after our meetings, have a little snack, and talk with eachother. This helps everyone get to know one another, meet new people in the ward, and just have fun together on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. It's a great calling! I also participate in a number of other service projects with the YSA throughout the year. One example being Project Target Hunger. The family wards go around the community and pick up the food donations and then the YSA sort it out to be taken to the food bank. It's a great way to get a bit competitive and still be doing good for those in need. There are always chances to serve the community through the Church.
