Hi I'm Ben

I'm grew up in Southern California, I go to BYU, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently in college in Utah, and plan on being a business major. I enjoy working out, playing racquetball, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. I grew up in Southern California, as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I served a mission in Mexico, in the Yucatan Peninsula and had many amazing and life changing experiences there. I now love Mexican food, and mostly anything spicy! When I have free time, I like to do things with friends, visit my grandparents and family members, and participate in church activities. I also enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I know that this gospel is true. My parents raised me in the church and I always liked going to church. Looking back, I always enjoyed being there and participating in church activities. Like most kids and teenagers though, I didn't really understand the significance of that feeling, or appreciate the gospel. While I was serving a mission for the church I came to know that the gospel was true. I saw how it blessed others and made me happy. Bit by bit, as I studied and lived Christ's teachings, I became more aware of how the amazing the principles of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ are, along with the unique peace and joy that they alone can bring us. I am also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have a testimony of it, and it's foundational principles. As I sought for myself to know that the principles of the gospel are true, Heavenly Father has blessed me to know of their truthfulness. I have prayed, studied the scriptures and done my best to obey God's commandments, and I have come to know in my heart as well as in my mind, by the power of the Holy Ghost, that the Church's teachings are true. I have felt and know that Christ lives, that the Book of Mormon is true, that a living Prophet guides and directs us today, and that the gospel is true and that it will bring us happiness in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I try to serve in the church in many ways. I feel that I can serve by being a part of the choir, by home teaching (or visiting, teaching, and being a friend to some people that I'm assigned to visit) some people a few times a month, and by being friendly and outgoing to others at church. For me, being welcomed has helped me to be enjoy and keep coming to church, so I try to extend that same feeling to everyone that I see at church. I also live my faith by serving in the temple frequently, spending time with family, and by striving to serve in whichever way I am called.
