Hi I'm Brad

I love to perform and teach music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Sophomore Instrumental Music Education Major at my University. I play the piano, french horn, trumpet, and percussion. One of my passions is marching music. I have been on a drumline for the last six years. I am also a former member of Drum Corps International, where I played mellophone and trumpet.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of Christ's church makes me happy. The standards contained in the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet blessed my life in my teenage years and contine to bless me today. Understanding truth brings peace into my life, and I know that God has given us truth through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by striving to continually become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to just smile at people around me and show compassion for anyone who needs a friend. I love to serve others, and I have had great opportunities to serve in my church. I have previously enjoyed overseeing the music for my congregation, and also conducting a choir and orchestra for a large musical production. While I served in these capacities, I was clearly able to see how the Lord blessed me in all aspects of my life.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a prophet, called to restore Jesus Christ's church to the earth. Joseph Smith, like Moses, was simply an individual who needed direction from God, but was called to teach and lead Heavenly Father's children. Show more Show less

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

In God's plan for His children, both men and women have vital roles. Men have the role of presiding. With that comes the responsibility of holding the Priesthood. No ordinance performed by the Priesthood can be performed for yourself, so the Priesthood is primarily a commission and responsibility to serve others. Women have the role of nurturing. Women are endowed with Godly attributes that allow them to nurture children and others. You could say that men need the Priesthood because women are innately good at serving others, and men need a reason to learn this important attribute. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

We often call God "Heavenly Father." This is because He is our Father, and so family is a central part of all of God's creations. God set up the institution of families to bless all people on the earth, and he gives us direction through the scriptures and through modern prophets to help us have happier families.
