Hi I'm David

I was born and raised in the small farming community in northern Utah, I'm a Mormon

About Me

After graduating from Utah State University with a BS degree in Electrical Engineer, our family has lived in a numereous US states and other countries while I worked in the mining industry: Colorado, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, South Carolina, Swakopmund Namibia Africa, London UK, Salt Lake City and now back to the community of my childhood. We have had the grand experience of gaining friends in each of these places and cherish the many lasting friendships. Now retired I enjoy my expansive garden and working in my wood workshop. I am an avide fly fisherman and true enjoy the outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents set an extraordinary example of living in accordance with gospel teachings. I was also priviledged to live next to my grandparents who also set a true example of righteous living. At age 19, I was ready to serve a full time mission, being called to serve in Brasil. During my missionary experience, my testimony grew as I witnessed the change in the lives of the people with whom I was blessed to be acquinted. After my mission, I have readily accepted callings to serve in the church that have further strengthened my faith and testimony of Jesus Christ and my certainty that His church is restored on the earth in my time. I have come to recongnize that personal revelation is readily available to me if I am prepared to receive and respond straightway. I know that Jesus Christ is the ressurected and living head of His restored church and has appointed living prophets to lead the church in accordance with his will. I believe in the truthfulnes of the gospel as recorded in the Bible and witnessed as truth by the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

Serving in the church has been the stabilizing core to my life. I have served in a variety of leadership callings and most importantly have developed cherished friendships with families who I have been priveledged to home teach. Most recently my wife and I have been directly involved with a Young Single Adults in our area. We have experience church membership in areas with large numbers of members and in areas where my wife and I were part of a very small group. We've attended Sunday meeting in large and modern church buildings with hundreds of members and in the living room of our home with only a half dozen attending. I have experience the joy of hoeing weeds out of the young green bean plants on the church welfare farm and helping a fellow member complete tasks around a home after being injured. Giving service to my fellow associates is my effort to follow the example of Jesus Christ
