Hi I'm Lexi Wright

I am an aspiring geologist, I love running, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I LOVE the earth. My major is earth science education and I am working to become a science teacher someday. Learning more about the earth has given me a great appreciation for all of God's creations. I am a dancer and have been dancing since I was 3 years old. I was on my dance/drill team all throughout high school and had the opportunity to coach the dance team at BYU-Idaho for a semester, as well as being on it for two. Also during my BYU-Idaho years, I had the privilege of teaching a fitness class called "Abs that Rock" for three semesters. My fourth semester in the fitness program, I was the fitness instructor coordinator and was able to become very involved in fitness. I have developed a love for the human body and taking good care of it. I love my family and spending time with them. They are my best friends! Joking around and playing games with my family is my idea of a perfect night. We love to mountain bike and hit the slopes together and are all very active. Missionary work is a big part of my life. I was recently called to be a sister missionary in the Chile Rancagua mission! I leave this February and am SO excited to serve!!! I recently ran the St. George marathon with my dad in October of last year. I LOVE running, especially with my dad. I feel it is a great way to stay in shape and is also a way for me to take time away from the troubles of the world and just enjoy the earth around me.

Why I am a Mormon

Receiving my personal testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ did not come all at once. I have slowly gained it by way of observations I have made throughout my lifetime that have built upon each other to bring me to the unshakable testimony I have today. I will share these testimonies with you, because I know these are things that many people have come to understand as well. It's all about putting together the pieces. I know there are good people on the earth. I know that each one of us has a light inside of us that we simply cannot ignore. This is the light of Christ. I know that God has given each of us agency to make our own choices, and that he knows what will make us happiest, so he uses the Holy Ghost as our guide to make good choices. I know that there is much more than just this short, mortal life. This isn't the end!! The decisions we make in this life will determine the life we live hereafter. I am so fascinated by geology and learning about the earth. Everything about this earth testifies that we have a divine creator. He gives us beauty and life all around us to make us happy, but also to give us a small glimpse of what he is capable of. I know that someday we can become just like our Heavenly Father, and that day will soon come. I believe that we are sent to this earth with the people that will make us the best we can be. I also know that the reason we are even ON this earth with a mortal body is because we decided, long ago, that we would follow Jesus Christ and his plan. We have already decided it!!! The spirit is not only leading us to the truth, but is leading us to REMEMBER the things we already know, but have forgotten since coming down to earth!! I KNOW that each and every one of us yearns for truth. In our hearts, we long to do the right thing and be on the Lord's side, we just don't know where to find this truth. I believe I have already found it, and that it is my responsibility to share this truth with others.

How I live my faith

As a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho, I am given the opportunity every day to be around those of my faith and to learn from their examples. I feel that we have opportunities every day to do good, and we need to follow those promptings to find favor with the Lord. I live my faith by striving to achieve my full potential. I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me and that there is a divine purpose to my life. Through daily prayer and scripture study, and following the promptings of the Holy Ghost, I feel I can be on the path to becoming the best person I can be. I was recently called to labor in the Rancagua, Chile mission, and will leave for the Missionary Training Center in Utah next month. My brother was also called to serve in Chile and will leave in a few months!! I try to find every opportunity to serve him, and also my parents so we can grow closer as an eternal family. I have served in church callings at school and at home. I have had the opportunity to lead and work with women my age in the student-wards at school and have spent time organizing church activities on the activities board. My favorite part about this church is actually attending church and other church activities! I go with my family every Sunday to learn and be uplifted, and also attend various activities throughout the week. I feel it is the simple things in life that make living so grand. It doesn't take a heroic act every day to be a hero. I feel that when we are true Christians in our community and when we take the time to do the little things, that we are becoming who our Heavenly Father knows we can be. Through kindness and love and striving to be more like Christ. This, is how I live my faith.
