Hi I'm Chris Isaacs

I'm the father of six and the grandfather of22. I have spent most of my working life as a Mule Packer & Cowboy and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have never wanted to be anything but a Cowboy from the time I was a little boy. I have had to do a few other things to support that 'habit' but always managed to come back to that. I spent three years in the Marine Corps (64-67) came home and married Helen Ahart. We have six children and a whole herd of grandkids. Shoeing horses, packing mules and horses and ranch work have been the things I have worked at the most to support my family. I have been writing poetry and short stories most of my life and for the past few years have found an outlet for that talent. Semi-retired now I have been fortunate enough to make a part of my living entertaining folks with what is now days called "Cowboy Poetry'. The real blessing that that has been in my life is the friendships I have made around the US and Canada. It has been a great life this far and I try hard each day to enjoy it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, my mothers side going back to the early days of the church. I was semi-active most of my young life and it wasn't until I had married and started a family that I really wanted to know if the church was true. Study, prayer and good friends helped me receive the answers I needed. Although I am still a somewhat 'leaky vessel' I do know with every part of my soul that the gospel is true; that it has been restored in its fullness to the Earth and is led by a Prophet today. I am thankful tor that knowledge.

How I live my faith

I try to live my religion one day at a time by being kind to those I meet. I believe that the Gospel in a nutshell can be described in a word; that word is 'Love'. While I don't go around prying into others business, I do try as a Home Teacher, and neighbor to let those around me know that "I'm here if you need me".
