Hi I'm Drew

I grew up in Arizona, I play any sport, I love music, longboarding with friends is my hobby, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of six, all of whom I love very much. I've lived in four states, and love each place for many different reasons. Being active, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends is how I put a smile on my face, but the gospel of Jesus Christ is how I keep it there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ contains all of the truths we need to be happy in this life and in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I am a ward pianist, I enjoy teaching others about any gospel-related topic, and I am currently serving a mission in Mendoza, Argentina.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Members of our church (especially missionaries) put emphasis on baptism for a couple of reasons. To begin, it is our first covenant with Heavenly Father. Covenants are simply promises between us and Heavenly Father where we promise to keep the commandments and in return, we receive specific blessings. After baptism, we enter "in this strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life" as it says in 2 Nephi, which means what it says-- that we are headed in the right direction. Secondly, we baptize new members because Christ was baptized, and we should always strive to follow His example. Heavenly Father cannot bless us if we do not have faith in His plan and His commandments. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

A man named Lehi, his family, and a few others, all traveled to the Americas from Jerusalem because they were commanded of God. The Book of Mormon is mostly a collection of writings by ancient prophets in the Americas who are descendants of that small group of people. It is a common misconception that Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon. He didn't write it, but he translated the plates where the record already existed. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

The scriptures are great because they show us how God works. They show us how to receive God's help, what can impede God's help, and how to improve our relationship with Him and Jesus Christ. And obviously, as we improve our relationship with them, we become happier people! The scriptures should be our first source of inspiration as we seek answers to prayers, questions, and doubts.
