Hi I'm Isabelle

I live in Germany, I am a mother, a student, a writer and I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am 33 years old. I live together with my three children, one daughter and two sons. For two years I have been studying at a university German and history and I really enjoy it, although it is very hard to study and be a housewife and mother at the same time. Beside my duties as a mother and a student there is not much time left for anything else. I really like my ward and the activities there, I like participate in sports and I always try to find a little time for that. I like to talk with family and friends, take walks in the woods, to travel or travel in my thoughts to places I have never been before. Mostly I like writing. I love to create stories and it’s exciting and funny to bring them out of my head and let other people see them either in narrated stories or in written words.

Why I am a Mormon

After a difficult childhood and youth I came to the point where I had to decide which way I really wanted to go. I knew that God was alive and I had the belief that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was His church on earth but I really had to know it. And now, many years later, I have reached the point of knowing that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I had so many experiences in which God showed me his incomparable love for me as his child and he also guided me to special moments where I could feel the truth in his great work, which I could never deny. I really know that in the moment we come to God, with the true intent to know him and follow his gentle voice, we can feel in our heart that He is there and has a special and individual plan for us. He has known us from the beginning, our strengths and our weaknesses. In his hands we can become a masterpiece. To live his commandments is the best way to really get to know him, to feel his deep love for us in our heart as an eternal truth and to become the person we felt deep inside that we could be. I am a member of the church because I really feel in my heart that this is the way God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

In the ward I am a teacher in the women’s organization for one hour a Sunday once in a month. I like to teach them! There are always nice students and there have so many valuably experiences and thought they share during the lesson. In the church we don’t choose the callings we do, we help where the bishop ask us to help. I am very happy to have this calling - I am able to fulfill this calling along with my thousand other assignments and it always give me joy to teach and feel the strong belief of the other women. I also try to show the people I meet, that I am following Christ. I talk about the gospel or about things I believe. What I really love to do is, tell people that God really lives and that they can pray and feel it for themselves. In Germany most people don’t want to visit a new church or discuss there beliefs, but if I talk about praying I can help God touch the heart of this person. Then they can feel the great love God has for them, they can feel while praying that they are not alone. They can feel that God has a plan for them. Not only a plan as part of the human family, but also a very specific and individual plan just for them. That is what touched me first. After that my life changed forever.
