Hi I'm Coleman

I am a future scientist interested in viruses. I love reading and being a dad. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and am a college student at Utah State University. I'm studying Chemistry and have plans to go to graduate school and pursue a PhD in virus studies. I served for two years as a missionary in Taiwan and have fallen in love with Asian and Oriental culture. I'm the second oldest of 6 kids. I have a twin sister who I'm older than by 4 minutes. I've lived and grown up in Idaho all of my life and I love it there. One of my favorite things to do is read. I'm especially a fan of young adult fiction. I also love doing things with my family. Hiking outdoors and curling up to watch a movie are both up there for some of my favorite things to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church my whole life. My parents are both members. For a while though, I rode off of what they told me. I went to church because they told me I needed to or because everyone said it was the right thing to do. I've grown to know for myself though, through prayer and the scriptures and my own experiences that God is real and that Jesus Christ lives. I'm a Mormon because of Their love for me and for everyone. This is where real happiness and joy come from; from Heavenly Father and his true church. I have come to find that out on my own. Not because my parents or friends or bishop told me, but because I prayed and found the truth. I'm a Mormon because God loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best I can be and reaching out to others. I believe that there are many opportunities every day for us to reach out to others and show some friendship and kindness. That is what Christ spent His life doing. All in all, I live my faith by doing the best I can, helping others, and trying to be as Christ-like as I can.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I think that there are lots of different things that tell us that God exists. One is that we exist. Our bodies are incredibly complex and amazing and that didn't just happen by accident. Everything around us is amazing and is proof of God's handiwork. But I also know God exists from personal experience and through prayer. Prayer is a way we can communicate with our Heavenly Father and He is willing and able to answer us. My prayers have been answered and I have felt His love for me and everyone. That is another reason I know that God lives. Show more Show less
