Hi I'm Janae

I'm a college student, I express myself through art, I love learning languages, I'm a mormon.

About Me

There are so many things that I love and so many things that I want to do with my life. The arts hold a special place in my heart such as dancing, singing, and drawing. I love music and dancing around as I clean the house or the dishes. I went on a mission when I was 19 to Des Moines, Iowa (while waiting for a visa) and then to Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a result, I learned Portuguese and I developed a love for learning languages and meeting new cultures. Now, I want to travel the world learning as many languages as possible and opening my world even more. I have now returned home and I am attending college at the moment, and it's really hard! I am trying my best to keep up with all of the classes but sometimes I have my lazy moments where I just sit back and waste some time reading a book or watching anime. I love my family more than anything! They are the most important thing to me and I want to stay with them forever. Going on a mission was a sacrifice for me in that respect because I had to be so far away from the people I love most, but it was worth every minute, even though it hurt. Honestly, I am a very regular girl with regular needs and desires. There isn't anything that special about me but I know who I am and I'm happy to be me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that this is the same church that He set up while on the Earth and I know that it has been restored. I am a member of this Church because I know that Heavenly Father loves me and that the only way that I can return to His presence is through faith, repentance, baptism (by those who truly hold divine authority), and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Through the Atonement of Christ we can repent and become so much more than what we are now, and with this we can know that one day we may return to live with Christ and Heavenly Father and our own families as well. This gospel gives me hope where nothing else could. I love this gospel and I love my Heavenly Father, just as I love Christ and His sacrifice for me.

How I live my faith

I am a member of my Young Women's presidency. I attend as many meetings as possible such as mutual (Wednesday night activities), church meetings, early morning seminary, and even church choir. I read my scriptures nearly every morning and I pray morning and evening. I am not perfect, there are areas where I lack, but I do try and I feel that is what matters.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes, I do. The simplest reason would be out of the Bible; it says that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Since that is true, then why would Heavenly Father call prophets in olden times and not call them in modern days? There is a prophet on the earth, and his name is Thomas S. Mohnson.
