Hi I'm David

I am the youngest of 13 children. I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a child of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a beautiful, eternal companion, and we have three children. For the last 10 years, I've been going to school. I've learned about computers, business, accounting, and finance. I am excited to be done with school and start the next phase of my life. I enjoy spending time with those that I love, watching movies, and playing games. I am not as active as I used to be, but I love sports and doing other outdoor activities. My favorite sport is basketball, but I also enjoy golf, soccer, football, softball, and volleyball. I enjoy going to the beach, lakes, and mountains. On our honeymoon, my wife and I rented mountain bikes for two days and rode through the mountains. We had so much fun. Above all, I love spending time with my wife and children.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and family were members of the church when I was born. I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout my childhood by my mother and father. I enjoyed the sweet spirit that always accompanied these teachings and when the teachings were followed. My parents were tremendous examples of Christlike living and this was a strength for me as I grew up. During my teenage years, I felt that the gospel was a way to stop me from doing fun things and enjoying the world. However, I quickly learned that the world does not have much to offer, when the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ are not present. I found myself alone and miserable until I put my testimony of my Savior above everything else. Then I was able to have faith in Jesus Christ by following his teachings, which has led me to have hope in the resurrection and Eternal life. This reality gives me peace and purpose.

How I live my faith

In James 2:26, we are taught that "faith without works is dead". I live my faith by relying on the grace of Jesus Christ and filling my life with faith building works. I love serving my family as a husband and father. These sacred callings provide me with tremendous opportunities to become more like my Savior Jesus Christ. I also enjoy serving in the church. Currently, I am serving with my wife as teachers to 3-4 year old children. These little ones are so precious. I also enjoy serving my home teaching families. This divine program has allowed me to get to know very special families that I have grown to love. In Matthew 5:48, the Savior teaches us to "be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect". I strive to live this commandment, but I know that I fall short. Only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ can I become perfect. I am grateful that my Father in Heaven designed such a wonderful plan for me to return to live with him, with my family. I love my Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ. I hope others can tell that I am a disciple of Christ by how I live my faith.
