Hi I'm Liz Teichert Harper

I'm a mother of 9 and grandmother of 19. I sell real estate and hike the spectacular mountain trails in Utah and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life has centered around my family - a wonderful husband, 9 children and 19 grandchildren. Now that our children are adults and living on their own, I am left with time to pursue my career in real estate, and enjoy this beautiful earth. I have a great appreciation for nature, whether it be the spectacular mountain peaks of Utah or the fascinating depths of the Carribean or South Pacific. I spend as much time as possible hiking, scuba diving, sea kayaking, snow shoeing, skiing and photographing my adventures. My active lifestyle requires that I am healthy and fit. Consequently, I cook and eat real food that will fuel my body. I find it gratifying to witness my grown children's business and academic success, the joy of their happy marriages and their delight in their lovely children. I have set goals to help me prioritize those activities that will bring meaning and peace into my life. I enjoy selling real estate and view my career as a vehicle which enables me to pay for those things in life that matter most - service to my family and community, fitness and health, travel and adventure and finally, study and writing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it teaches me who I really am - a beloved daughter of a Heavenly Father. How amazing is that!! There is really nothing of a secular nature that can compare. When I sold my last business and decided to take on the role of wife and mother, I was humbled as I served my children, my ailing mother, my busy husband, the struggling women in my neighborhood and the poor and needy in my community. I occasionally felt the affirmation of approval from God - knowing that what I was doing at that moment would be what He would be doing if He were in my place - that causes joy beyond expression. Because He loves me, I know He loves us all. And because He loves us all equally, I too, must love myself and others as myself. I'm a Mormon because I have come to know my Heavenly Father by learning and then living the principles of His gospel - the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that it is true because I have tested it. My Heavenly Father confirms His great love for me, even when I don't deserve it and I know that He loves all of His children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith empathically. In serving the community as a board member for various humanitarian organizations, I have been humbled at the extraordinary courage and tenacity of the poor, the homeless, the abused, the fatherless, the hungry and so many of our brothers and sisters who suffer every minute of every day. I find opportunities to visit those in the neighborhood whom I know are lonely, sick or depressed. So many suffer silently within the confines of their own walls. I have been blessed to know how to work and to enjoy it. I learned that by developing skills and talents I am a more useful instrument in Heavenly Father's hands. Keeping myself happy and optimistic by studying His words in the scriptures enables me to brighten someone else's day as well as helping me keep a broader perspective in being able to see things as they really are.
