Hi I'm Brad Sorensen

I'm a Mormon. I am a husband and father. I grew up on a farm in rural Idaho. I enjoy the outdoor fun and games.

About Me

I recently graduated with a Masters of science from University of Illinois, with an emphasis in crop science. I now work as an Agronomist on a farm where I help develop new orchards. I grew up hunting, fishing, ride ATV's and do many other things outside with my family. I have also come to enjoy sewing and cooking, especially outdoor cooking with dutch ovens. I enjoy activities that allow me to see what I have created. I also love to go on dates with my wife or play with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

Well my parents are members; but the first time I really knew it was true was when I started to ask about why I had to go to church once a week. After praying for a while and continuing to go to church, one Sunday it just clicked. I felt the spirit teaching me and I felt Heavenly Fathers love for me. So going to church isn't difficult for me any more, I know that its the right thing to do, and that it is where Heavenly Father wants me. Since that experience I have had many other times in my life when I felt like I was overwhelmed by work, school, or family. I have come to know that when I live the gospel, provide service, and otherwise do what I know I should be doing I am able to meet the demands of life and do so more happily. Its when I am consistent in studying the scriptures, praying, and doing good things that the spirit bears witness to me that the gospel is true. Prayer has been a huge part of my gaining a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Prayer increases my hope and faith, so that I can make the correct decision even if it is the hard one to make.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making the best of the ordinary parts of life. Some times with a poor attitude I get distracted. But when I forget my problem and focus on something bigger I can then truly live my faith. I have found that visiting my home teaching families is really helpful to improving my prospective of life. I think this is partly due to the blessing of making friends and just communicating with other people. Their fellowship strengthens me and I hope that the messages and friendship that are shared when I home teach blesses them also. Occasionally I get to teach a sunday school class or bearing my testimony. Those are sometimes scary times but I know that part of flowing Jesus Christ is sharing what I have been blessed with with those around me. I also have the opportunity to go on team ups with the full time missionaries (Elders). This is a really fun and uplifting chance for me to share some of my favorite scriptures and experiences that have strengthened my faith in Jesus Christ. I also live my faith by holding Family Home Evening (FHE) with my family on Monday night. This is a prime opportunity for me to play with my children and also calm down and discuss/teach the gospel out of the scriptures with them. As my wife and I teach the gospel in our home we are often surprised by their sweet spirit, and how quickly they can spot and explain truth

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

Brad Sorensen
I have felt the influence and guidance of the Holy Ghost at many times in my life. I received the Holy Ghost after I was Baptized at 8 years old by the laying on of hands. One of the ways I know that I am being lead by the spirit is the feeling of peace that has come in answer to my prayers. I have also received promptings (feelings/thoughts) that have guided me out of and away from situations that may have lead me into addiction and problems. I am happily married and the guidance of the Holy Ghost reassured me that my choice in an eternal companion was the right one. Because I have followed those promptings I can move forward in my life having faith that whatever challenges I am faced with the Lord will help and sustain me as I strive to remain faithful and true the the knowledge I have been blessed with. I know the Holy Ghost will continue to guide me as I live righteously, and strive to listen to and seek after the guidance of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
