Hi I'm Brandon

I'm a Mormon, and happy to share it.

About Me

I'm from Gillette, Wyoming and I am very energetic and love sports. I also love to work on different types of things. I love mechanics, cars, anything for the thrill of an adrenaline rush. I love being able to help people out when there is a need. Music is very important to me and I love it. I play many instruments, maybe not as well as others, but I know how to play guitar, piano (many years ago), alto sax (its been a few years), drums, and most recently Ukulele (lovin' it). Hmmm Seminary grad and Eagle Scout to put some icing on the cake. I went to college for a year and now serving a Mission. The location I am serving in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission and very excited to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know and testify that Joseph Smith is, in fact, a true Prophet who restored the true church on the earth today. I testify that The Book of Mormon is the true word of God. I know this due to the fact that I have read it all cover to cover and had prayed sincerely to receive the confirming witness that the book is true. I know the Book of Mormon works hand in hand with the Bible. I know the Book of Mormon was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith through the authority and direction given through God the Eternal Father and his son Jesus Christ. I know these things because I have done what the words of James, Moroni, and other Prophets had said concerning on the confirmation on many important subjects. I would encourage all to have an open mind and open heart and listen to the messages that are shared by members and missionaries. No one in this world is perfect, I know i'm not perfect, but the church and Heavenly Father, along with Jesus Christ, help me become who and what I want to be.

How I live my faith

Well there are many ways to show how I live my faith. Many instances include, going to church, reading the scriptures, praying, and just living my live to the extent that I possibly can.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

In Sacrament meeting, a talk was given by the Bishop. What stood out was a part of his talk. "We are saved by grace, yes, but how has that knowledge changed us". Think about it. What are we willing to do since Jesus Christ paid the price for all of us. We are saved by Grace, now how can we show it? Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

We live the law of Tithing because it enables us to realize that what we have is all given to us by our loving Father in Heaven. The act of giving 10% is to show our love and faith to him. Even though times may be hard and financial circumstances may occur, as we put our trust in our Heavenly Father, he WILL bless us with every needful thing as long as we are living worthily and paying our tithing with a willing heart. I personally would not want to rob Heavenly Father. He has given us EVERYTHING. If we are willing to pay a full and honest tithe, it shows we are willing to make a small but significant sacrifice, having much faith. With God, all things are possible. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is no different from being another human being. Sure there are guidelines we follow, commandments, words of wisdom, and other promises we make, but as we live them, life is easier in a sense and we can have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. I personally have the knowledge and faith to know that there is much meaning to everything. There is always good. You just have to look for it. Show more Show less
